The Void

A woman said to the Void:
“Madam, I’m imagined!”
“Irrefutably,” said the Void
“Upon that figment of imagination lies
The substrata of existence.”

The original poem:
A Man Said to the Universe

A man said to the universe:
“Sir, I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
“A sense of obligation.”

Notes: NaPoWriMo 2013 Day 30 . Prompt today was to “find a shortish poem that you like, and rewrite each line, replacing each word (or as many words as you can) with words that mean the opposite.” Not sure if this is an “opposite” poem. But, it does have that sort of yin-yang dynamics. This one came together very easily, and after yesterday’s not so great attempt, lot more satisfying. Especially, completing the NaPoWriMo challenge with some meta type of themes.

A quick reflection on NaPoWriMo challenge: this was certainly a great exercise, allowed me to flex and learn and write, and write. I followed few bloggers regularly, sort of as virtual companions along the way. Thanks to all those who took the time to read the posts and comment. I enjoy reading as much as I could. Next, consolidate the learnings, spend some time going back and cleanup a few pieces, read more, complete some in-flight stuff that I’ve neglected for last month and also get back to learning and writing in Hindi. Hope folks will stick around and offer up comments so that I can continue improving my writing,
