Aise Hunar Ka Kya Kahein (What Do You Say of Such Skills)

Ek lams se betaabi badhana, aise hunar ka kya kahei.n (1.1)

Ek sparsh se fikre.n bhulana, aise hunar ka kya kahei.n (1.2)

एक लम्स से बेताबी बढ़ाना, ऐसे हुनर क्या कहें (१.१ )

एक स्पर्श से फ़िकरें भुलाना, ऐसे हुनर क्या कहें (1.२)


kabhi neem baaz, kabhi neem kash, kabhi kanakhiya (2.1)

nigahon se yuun jalwe dikhana, aise hunar ka kya kahei.n (2.2)

कभी नीम बाज़, कभी  नीम कश, कभी कनखिय (२.१)

निगाहो से यूँ जलवे दिखाना, ऐसे हुनर क्या कहें (२.२)


sabaa ki har leher pe aaj teri yaadon hai savaar (3.1)

sabaa ko aise apna doot banwana, aise hunnar ka kya kahei.n (3.2)

सबा की हर लेहेर पे आज तेरी यादों है सवार  (३.१)

सबा को ऐसे अपना दूत बनवाना, ऐसे हुनर क्या कहें (३.२)


Masoom musafir chale jo rehguzar per apni manzil ki aur (4.1)

Aise raahi ko raah se bhatkana, aise hunnar ka kya kahe (4.2)

मासूम मुसाफ़िर चले जो रहगुज़र पर  अपनी मंज़िल के ओर (४.१)

ऐसे राही को राह से भटकना, ऐसे हुनर क्या कहें (४.२)


Umr lage goya ‘Saraab’ palak si, ek pal mei azal ki jhalak (5.1)

labh se labh judne ka wo sila, aise hunnar ka kya kahei.n (5.2)

उम्र लगे गोया ‘सराब’ पलक सी, एक पल में अज़ल की झलक  (५.१)

लभ से लभ जुड़ने का वो सिला, ऐसे हुनर क्या कहें (५.२ )


Loose English Translation:

To increase impatience with one touch, what do you say of such skills (1.1)

A touch to make you forget your worries, what do you say of such skills (1.2)

Sometimes intoxicated, sometimes half-drawn, sometime a sly glance (2.1)

To showcase these talents of the eyes, what do you say of such skills (2.2)

Today riding the spring zephyr are your memories (3.1)

Making the breeze your messenger, what do you say of such skills (3.2)

Innocent traveller who is on the path, going towards his destination (4.1)

To lead such a traveller astray, what do you say of such skills (4.2)

An era seems as if ‘Mirage’ (illusory)’ moment, each moment a glimpse of eternity (5.1)

The way you lock lips, what do you say of such skills (5.2)
