Rush Without Warning

Day 18 of NaPoWriMo.  Today is the 240th anniversary of the Paul Revere’s Ride.  So the prompt was to “write a poem that involves an urgent journey and an important message. It could be historical, mythical, entirely fictional, or memoir-ical.”  Here’s my take using a set of haikus again.

Mustang Sally With
top down, racing the street to
pick up date in time.

In Mustang Sally,
no time for chit-chat, can't miss
food reservation.

Home after dinner
rushing to beat curfew, pulled
over by police.

Put candle on ledge,
one if by tonight, two if
by morrow we meet.
