Day 11 Of NaPoWriMo 2018.

Seven percent of
‘me’ body mass I cycle
out to world, daily.

Only two percent
of ‘me’ atoms at the start
of year are my own.

‘Me’ microbiome
Is only one part ‘me’, three
Other parts alien.

Mind’s good at playing
tricks of delusion: pretends
that I am ‘me’ but
not you that you are not me
and that we’re not together.

Exploring today’s prompt in a form of poem, consisting of 3 haiku and a tanka.  The prompt was:

Our (optional, as always) prompt for the day is taken from one of the prompts that Kwoya Fagin Maples suggests in here interview: a poem that addresses the future, answering the questions “What does y(our) future provide? What is your future state of mind? If you are a citizen of the “union” that is your body, what is your future “state of the union” address?”

The tanka is a nod to Beatles’ I am the Walrus song, which starts like this:

I am he as you are he as you are me
And we are all together
See how they run like pigs from a gun
See how they fly
I’m crying
